Bit weird but I'm on facebook extremely low key and I'm getting a load of men who I do not know in my "you may know" who live somewhere completely different to where I am quite bizarre and I don't comment on anything and I mean anything to do with meme pages or hot takes I only use it to like posts from real Life people, I got someone in london and then another in Birmingham then a French person and this has never happened before. My you may know has always been people I have generally heard of or are friends of a friend.

Facebook will:

1. recommend friends of friends even if you have no way of meeting them
2. recommend people who have been in the same school or company you work for even if those places are enormous and there's no way for you to actually know everyone there.
3. Go through your call logs, find people You've called or texted, then go through their phone logs and recommend people they've called or texted.
4. Repeat all the above for Instagram and WhatsApp

You asked if you were stalked, truth is you signed yourself up for stalking when you created a Facebook account. Delete the app and never use Facebook again.

I don't Care if my data is being used for stuff like advertising doesn't bother me much but I just think it's a bit random how I had like 7 people who I knew about vaguely in there to all these men I haven't seen in my life who live like nowhere near me

It's not really that weird when you think about it. A friend of mind looked up some of our old classmates and a bunch of them moved all around the world. I'd have never recognized them if it weren't for the names. Some moved to Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria, and other strange shit I'd have never expected.

There's also a chance your identity was stolen and is being used for fraud in Europe. Facebook wouldn't be able to tell or care unless they tried to log into Facebook.
