I've been going to this book store my entire life. I buy all my novels, comics, manga and programming books from this place. I've spent thousands at this place + their Starbucks always gives me a discount.

Dear Barnes & Noble Shoppers,

Your Barnes & Noble store at Almaden Plaza is under threat of closing. As of January 26th, we learned that our store will not stay open once the lease runs out at the beginning of next year. This unfortunate timing impacts the workers, who just formed a union for better working conditions and living wages, and directly threatens the strides we have taken to improve the customer experience at our store.

We are asking the public to assist in this petition to save and relocate our store. Our current lease will not be renewed, but we can still fight for the store to be relocated. Please add your name to this petition to help save your neighborhood store, the community we have built over the past 25 years, and the hardworking team who continually fight to make Barnes & Noble a better company for all.

We take pride in knowing that many of you have shopped here since you were children, and we're thrilled to have so many regulars who greet us at our registers and join us for coffee in our cafe. To lose Almadens Barnes & Noble is to lose more than just a store; we will lose a community.

Additionally, if our store is forced to close, shoppers and staff will have to travel 25 to 30 minutes to our locations in Stevens Creek and Gilroy if they wish to continue shopping at Barnes & Noble. Our customers deserve to have a Barnes & Noble location close to home, and relocating our store ensures nobody has to go out of their way to find their next favorite read.

I only went there a few times but it was a nice, quiet little shop in a huge shopping area. But Amazon closed it down.

Its odd that you refers to it as the book store. Why not just say my favorite / usual Barnes and Noble?

Same happened to my local Borders. Man, that place was so goddamn comfy.

All just to add a few more pennies into the pockets of shareholders.

I wish. I would expect something from a smaller business but B&N is pretty huge. Surprised this story isn't taking off.
