I know that one thing that sometimes comes up in these is is this guy ok? I am OK. But I did post a topic around the time of one of these talking about divorce and whatnot. So yeah, you get a bit of blogpost with this VERY SPECIAL 220 giveaway.

I talked with my wife this week. I actually had a long drivel ready to post yesterday, but figured Id Cliff Notes it today. She is, at this point anyway, done with the marriage. But we have a kid, which complicates it. I apparently bring a negative energy to the home, and she feels better when Im not at the house.

She said a lot of things which, at face value, mightve seemed quite hurtful, but there was some truth to a good portion of it, and none of it was entirely unexpected.

Not sure where it goes from here exactly, but Ill likely be consulting with an attorney next month after spring break and some work trips. Not that I plan on acting fast, or even at all, on anything, but just want to be armed and ready with all the information I can get.

I would ultimately prefer to stay together in our household as roommates. Im in no rush to get out, and it really will be best for the kid. Shes open to that, but also, I apparently bring a negative energy to the home, and she feels much less anxious and stressed when Im not around.

Also, she threw out a hall pass. Said verbatim, I dont care if you date other women or whatever, just dont bring them to the home or get them pregnant. Which was an odd thing to say since my wife knows I had a vasectomy. But shes odd about a lot of things, what can I say. Im not looking to actively engage that pass now at all, but it would be nice to be with someone that shows even a shred of care and affection toward me. As she hasnt for months now.

So yeah, thats enough of that for now.

Its strange when people are mad, there is a form of humor that still leaks. I feel at the peak of your relationship there were many good moments, and thats why it is so personal after the end.

It sounds weak in my opinion to just say there's "a negative energy" to a partner you've had a kid with while being unable to say what it is. That type of unhelpful communication is why lots of couples can't navigate their marriages after years.

Maybe you can't say more because you apparently know what she's talking about, but outside looking in that sounds dishonest, like she has a personal hangup & it's easier to redirect it to you if you'll be the one to bear the responsibility

Yup, reset is definitely needed. Resentment does play a major part in this.

Oh dear. I'm sorry about what you're going through.

I really hope things work out for you the best they can and ultimately you are content and happy and are able to co-parent your child together amicably.

Hope things turn around for you and you end up with someone who offers what you are looking for. Sorry to hear it man.

Im sticking around with mine for the sake of our kids, but were two conflicting personalities. I feel like shes a negative vibe.
But ultimately, my kids will never lack a father whether my marriage sticks or fails.
And Im sure you feel the same way.
Stay strong for the children no matter what happens fam!

Its a day-by-day thing. Were not actively fighting or causing any stress to him now. So right now, hes good. If there are bigger fights or yelling, thatd affect him.

If the cons overtake the pros, then of course the situation can be reevaluated and adjusted in the future.
