physical collectors edition has a WoL viper figure, world map, the unending journey as an actual journal, a vintage looking pen case, and a fancy box

digital collectors edition has Ark (ff9) as a mount, wind-up garnet minion, chocobo brush glam weapon for pictomancer

preorder items wind-up zidane, azeyma's earrings (functions like the previous preorder earrings)

reason for all the ff9 items is a secret

How long does it take to play through 6.X?

Too many RPGs this year I'm literally drowning, but I'll be there! Also wondering how long I should budget for 6.X.

6.X is fine. The MSQ is kind of its own self-contained story, rather than being connected to anything (until the 6.55 stuff, which is a direct lead-in to Dawntrail) and it doesn't hit anywhere near the same highs that 6.0 did.

The non-MSQ stuff is okay too. I think the biggest complaint people have is the relic grind is too easy/not engaging enough (which I find utterly insane - I think this is the absolute best relics have ever been). Raid design is fine-ish, outside of a few personal gripes.

Overall I'd say 6.X is a solid C. Not outstanding, but it gets the job done.

With the disclaimer that I did not do ARR or HW while they were current:

MSQ:
ShB >= HW > StB > EW > ARR

Everything else:
StB > ShB > EW > HW > ARR

Heavenward is the only expansion where the
.X is better than the .0 IMO.

Stormblood too. And people LOVE 5.3.

6.X is the equivalent of making the Trial story into the msq. Like imagine if the Post-Heavensward MSQ had been just the Warring Triad story with msq budget.

Stormblood has strong stuff 4.3 and later, but 4.1 and 4.2 MSQ are rooooooooooough.

5.x is stupendous, but 5.0 in general is such a high bar.
