Blue_Popo 03/22/24 8:55:21 PM #1:	Star wars and marvel are two of the biggest franchises in media. Maybe the 2 biggest That said they only ever give us 6 or so episodes ranging between 30 and 45 minutes. Theres moments they look great, theres moments they look cheap. Look at house of the dragon, the boys, stranger things, last of us. Those are made for similar amounts but look similar or better, have more episodes with longer run time. Also have better endings to their seasons This is coming from someone who has enjoyed marvel and star wars shows. I liked wandavision, falcon, hawkeye, moonknight, andor, some of mando and ahsoka....hell even she hulk was enjoyable Star wars and marvel also make money from other things which a lot of their competition doesnt. Game of thrones has no box office revenue, neither does stanger things. Disney is a bigger company than netflix, hbo (not amazon) All of these shows cost 100-200mil but disney gets less out of that budget than its competitors. <cite>Blue_Popo posted [p:979513241] in Why are St... But not all the money they make goes back into Marvel and Star Wars. It goes to other places. They make cheap shows to make money. HBO was always about its premium content. A lot of plot threads that were established in the beginning, kept you interested how they progressed each episode, and it was beautifully wrapped up by the end and some threads intentionally left loose for the next season. This is different from say Obi Wan, where the pacing feels like a movie split up by different episodes. Not a lot of plot threads, very simplistic.
