Seems pretty legit. I just got done with Chrono Trigger for the first time. Now I have a fixing for another retro RPG.

I was about to pick up Sea of Stars but apparently this is OT2 is better?

Played the original, thought it was good but a few annoyances held it back from being great, 7.5ish/10. wish I could have given it an 8 for the meme, but did not get there. I heard the sequel didn't really fix any of those annoyances, so I'll play it eventually but low priority. I'm definitely playing Sea of Stars before OT2 when the physical editions release.

move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. They're using DC-17 hoof blasters.

I didn't play it yet but if its anything like Octopath Traveler 2, it'll feel like a watered down rpg story wise. The game play was pretty fun though. Just I disliked the separation of characters and their plots.

OT2 is much better than Sea of Stars

It is a very good JRPG, if you're okay with a Canterbury Tales like ensemble story rather than a typical party-banter driven experience.

Not sure about Sea of Stars.

Octopath 2 is pretty good but nowhere near as epic or interesting on the story because of the way it's set up (8 small ones instead of one big one). Solid gameplay for the genre though, I can recommend it on that front. Reasonably challenging too unless you break it open, except for when you start running through final chapters. They're all about the same level so the first couple might be hard but then you'll start to steamroll.

Ah yes, you've all reminded me of why I had reservations. The disjointed character stories seems like a bit of a weird design choice.

They have been making 8 seperate stories rpgs since the super famicom days. It's typically in their Saga series.

This game is damn amazing, but holy shit is it long. I got 30 hours in but got busy with a newborn a few years ago and haven't touched it since. Now I don't remember what the story is or how to play. =(

I couldn't really get into the gameplay. Every class seemed to have some sort of boring resource gimmick, the encounters were pretty underwhelming, and "hit weakness" is not as deep or interesting as developers seem to think.
