Some appetizers look tasty but whenever I see an appetizer dish cost like $15 and then the main dish is like $18 I get discouraged.

Depends. An appetizer meant for an entire table costing as much as a small meal for a single person makes sense to me.

Eh, true, but almost every time I went out with friends the appetizer never got split between the table. Whoever ordered it just ate the cost so it's like they would have been ordering it for themselves anyway.

this is a chain restaurant that is maybe a 6/10 at best, too. They upcharge you if you want dip, carrots, or celery.

That is crazy.
