have someone ask you questions about horoscopes. Like, I understand astrology and astronomy sound similar, but up until I was in high school I didn't understand the nuances either. I can't imagine how many other people mistake the two for each other.

Sucks to study so hard for a profession where some crystal loving - homeopathy believin-tree-huggin **** mistakes your job for some horoscope equivalent.

Is this much of a problem?

Like, when you are looking through the giant telescope at the observatory, do people tap you on the shoulder and ask, 'while you're there mate, can you just check to see if today is a good day for making plans? I'm an Aries, by the way'?

I would just make up insane shit and tell highly specific lies to people about their future.

Honestly collecting rocks and mineral was so much better before the wannabe hippies decided it would be part of the culture and almost used as a form of currency. I've been collecting since the 80's but somewhere in the 90's everything changed.

Just like the internet, it was better when it was mostly populated by nerds, and not normies.

I took an astronomy class and the professor said the most annoying thing was people freaking out every time they saw the moon during day time

The only time I can recall hearing or reading about this, oddly enough, was in regards to early McCarthy hearings, wherein McCarthy provided a list of pinko academics and listed a bunch of supposed Ivy League astrologists that were actually misspelled names of various astronomers.
