If youre finding it creepy, then its clearly doing its job as its supposed to make you stop and think twice about heading into a potentially deadly cave system without the skills and resources necessary to do so safely.

Underwater caving is such an absurd activity to me, I don't get the appeal one bit.

Oh yeah let's load up and squeeze through narrow, dark underwater passages where a slight mistake could mean a horrible death. Sounds like a great way to spend a weekend

After hearing those stories of cave explorers getting stuck in dead end tunnels and slowly dying with no way to save them or recover their bodies I never want to go near a cave honestly. They literally just seal up the tunnels with their body inside.

Ted the Caver did this for me, as even without the accompanying images, the description of having to squeeze and wriggle your way through such a tight and narrow opening was giving me acute claustrophobia, and I rarely ever get such feelings.

I've read about it before and it's totally fucked. There was one guy who died while cave diving, and some dudes went to fish his body out. I think two more of them died in the process, maybe three.

You should probably never watch 'The Descent' then. It's a horror movie about a group of women that get trapped in an uncharted cave system. Seeing them squeeze through narrow passages had me so on edge

I will never forgive the ad campaign for ruining what would have been one of the best jump scares of all time.

This is Eagle's Nest Cave and here's a MrBallen video where he talks about one of the tragedies that happened in that cave, and it includes footage of someone scuba diving in the cave.

Claustrophobic caves are terrifying enough let alone underwater ones. Forget tight spaces for a moment though because its 10 times easier to get lost or turned around in underwater caves due to the circumstances. And youre, by default, on a strict time limit.

Also consider that too often to ignore rescue people end up dying themselves trying to get to people so not only are you endangering yourself but others too.

I'm glad it's up tbh.

If I were into both diving and spelunking, I'd probably think nothing of it. Why DO so many cave divers die in the process?

The very first time you see a monster, it's just standing next to one of them when the night vision pans over, no warning or buildup.

They threw that shot in the trailer, which absolutely ruined it as a surprise.

Geez that sounds terrifying. I have a strong fear of bodies of water where I can't see the bottom, just darkness. I would never go in that cave.

The grim reaper is usually depicted as valuing life. He doesn't want to take lives before their time is supposed to be up.

I don't really understand the thought process behind seeing a tiny flooded tunnel in a cave and thinking "yeah I bet I can squeeze through there"

Like the fucking Amigara Fault is actually underwater or something.

I think people are bored and desire thrills.

Part of it is it is usually romanticized by fiction. People think having neardeath experiences help you feel more alive and help to appreciate your life more and all that BS.

It even translates to video games in ways. Like people who pilot planes in GTA flying like they are trying to hit things. All because they think it makes them cool. In reality it is completely impractical.

It isn't even just divers.

Look at people who want to jump out of perfectly good planes for thrills. Or the people who flock to dangerous mountains where so many people have died, and want to climb it just so that they could say they did it.

I recall certain dangerous mountains have so many people dying there that the bodies just become part of the tour. "We will take a left here at the body with the blue coat..."
