I've been without a smartphone for 5+ years. I recently got a used pixel 4a and it has grapheneOS installed, no google play services.

anyway, I've never logged into gmail on the phone, and haven't done anything as far as accounts go besides logged into my home wifi.

today, I decided to create a tinder account because I've been single for a long time, and I'm, well.. desperate enough to try tinder. I signed up on my computer, through the web browser, and it asked me to put in my phone number to make sure I'm not a bot.
fine, whatever.
so, I enter my phone number, and I get a text with a 6-digit code. no biggie.

what happens right after? a pop up on my phone saying:
"Gigabyte A520M - BucketCat - would you like to autofill the text message on Chrome for Windows?"

how in the hell did that happen?
never connected my phone to my PC. the only thing they share is my wifi network.

I'm getting rid of the phone. fuck that. back to dumb phones for me.

It might be because you're signed into your Google profile on your PC web browser and your phone.

nah, i'm not signed into google on the phone at all, it doesn't have any google apps or anything like that
right now, i have my phone number, contacts (transferred from my dumb phone via vcf file sent via bluetooth), and wifi and that's it.

Probably sending some information through your WiFi network. Likely won't happen if you disconnect your phone from it
