Multiple with all of them being MCsexuals.

if there are multiple options, I prefer them to be tied to gender, that way there feels an incentive to play multiple times (if it's an RPG).

like, I really enjoy both games, but playing as female V feels a little different than playing as male V in Cyberpunk 2077, even if it's mostly how your potential partners might regard you vs Baldur's Gate 3, where it feels more cosmetic.

but a single romance, that's tied to the main plot, like in Banishers, is preferable, for me.

Single romance or multiple different couples

I like the way The Outer Worlds handled it, whereby they set up an obvious romance character as a sidekick only for her to immediately fall for someone else at the very first place you visit.

There was some pretty hilarious crybabies about it online afterwards.

Same with Serana hard friend zoning you in Skyrim.

Like GTA San Andreas. So if you date multiple women at once, one comes at you with a monster truck.

Mass Effect and Cyberpunk were gold standards.

in theory I wouldn't mind multiple options but I don't think many games do it very well. I prefer my games themselves to have a sort of main single story without too much openended detouring so it's a bit tricky to fit branching romance into that without making individual options feel shallow

I've never particularly cared for playersexual romances, but I'll readily admit that - as someone who is a straight male - I'm the demographic usually being catered to, so I understand why others feel differently.

What I'd like to see is more romance among party members, so it feels less like everyone is purely player-focused in their affections.

I like players to romance whoever they like, but I also don't like how BG3 did it, where your entire party is pansexual and aggressively horny.

I don't enjoy romance in my video games. I go along with the side quests and do the romance stuff. But only because it usually leads to special gear, stat bonuses, special companion skills, etc. Otherwise I would skip that silly shit every time.
