Its an option Trump appears to have considered partly because he believes the chances are good that he could recover the assets on appeal, even if he is forced to take his case to the US Supreme Court, according to friends.

Even if there is a taking, it doesnt mean he cant take it back later, a source close to Trump told The Post.

If any of these Republicans claiming that they won't vote for Trump then he could potentially lose 10-15% of Republican voters, which is a fuck load.

I think 2020 is possible, I can't see 2016 though. I'm going to use my super duper totally expert not at all guessing prediction and say he'll get around 67m votes.

I've had some nights on Fireball that are a bit hazy, I wonder if I ever assaulted any police and threw them to my mob friends to beat to death. I should ask around!

It's hard to keep track of all this, but the NY civil judgement is a state judgement right? Wouldn't the Supreme Court play no role here? highest would be NY state appeal?

You need a federal constitutional basis to appeal to the supreme Court. Being a state thing doesn't exempt you from the federal supremacy clause. In this case he's trying to argue his 5th amendment Rights are being violated. Not clear which one he's referring to but probably means he's not getting due process or something like that.

If he's really arguing based on due process, I'm guessing that means he's irate about not getting a jury trial. It was specifically explained by the judge that there is typically no jury for this kind of trial, but he doesn't understand that.

Some combination of no jury, summary judgements, and not being allowed to read his disclaimer on the witness stand that the judge already ruled was not insulation from deliberately lying to creditors.

I was on Ambien for a short time, and the worst thing I did was I had to call in sick for work because I couldnt remember anything I did five minutes prior. I had no memory that I brushed my teeth or put on my shoes and the only way I knew is because my mouth tasted minty and I looked down and saw my shoes on my feet. That was the last time I ever took it.

We should also keep in mind that it's half a billion dollars in civil liability SO FAR. There are multiple lawsuits Trump is still facing, some related to January 6th from capitol police officers and Brian Sicknick's family. It's so hard to keep track of all of it. There is also a possibility that Rudy Giuliani will be forced to sue Trump to get ~$2 million in legal fees he claims Trump owes him because of Giuliani's bankruptcy proceedings.

Keep Track is the most comprehensive aggregation I've seen. It originally started just keeping tabs on Trump & the administration back in 2018 but since branched out into anything related to politics.

Couple of years ago I was having trouble sleeping and my doctor prescribed sleep meds, don't remember if it was Ambien, but he recommended I hide my car keys and put stuff in front of my door so I couldn't open it. I ended up only taking it a few times. A little insomnia is better than having to lock my apartment down like fort knox.

Quite simply, if he wanted to do that, he might literally have to abandon his campaign.

A $400 million gift would be substantially outside allowable monetary donations to a presidential campaign, even if it were structured as a temporary loan/bond/etc.

Because you aren't allowed to give massive amounts of money directly to an individual who is running for president. Even providing money for a bond can been seen as providing a lot of monetary value to an individual.

You cannot just gift someone $400 million Dollars there would be extreme taxes. You'd have to donate substantially more just to make sure $400 million is what's left over.

As far as borrowing goes, that comes with an expectation that it's going to be paid back. And that is not something Trump has a great track record of doing.

There is a massive difference between getting a bond or loan from a company/bank than individuals.

If his "rich friends" hand him enough money to post his bond, that's a pretty substantial donation to his campaign.

It would be kind of a pain to navigate legally but I bet the Irish Government would be more than willing to assist with taking his golf course and selling it to NY State.

The relief requested by Trump was that the trial court dismiss the case or other disqualify Willis . Trump and co. argue that Wade's withdrawal is insufficient to cure the claimed conflict of interests.

I was just thinking to myself "This guy had a vastly different reaction to Fireball shots that I have had". I tend to get a little loose at the poker table....not become an insurrectionist criminal.

Update: it appears the trial court has permitted Trump and co. to move for an interlocutory appeal. Georgia Supreme Court or Court of Appeals has discretion to grant interlocutory review. No decision as to whether an interlocutory appeal will be granted.
