[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

did you say you still can't figure out how he knew? supposedly cops hate radar detectors though, most.

oh you show them your little paramedic badge ? i heard like your brother is a cop you might get a little badge to show. Or that they never give tickets to judges. Have seen some yt videos with huge cop and paramedic disagreements , on a big scene.....

had a friend in college whose uncle was a detective in NJ or NY and they gave him a thick gold colored card that he would hand over with his license and registration

Im not sure what it got him out of, when we got pulled over it was because he didnt have his headlights on so not gonna get a ticket anyway.

One time I got a speeding ticket and my dad asked my uncle who is a cop to make it go away so he called the officer that gave me the ticket and talked to him about so the officer that gave me the ticket agreed to not show up at the appeal and I would win automatically but sadly another officer from that precinct was there for another thing and stood in on his behalf. So I had to go to a back room with this officer and explain to him the situation and agree to being at fault or whatever

i received a ticket for not obeying the traffic signs or something when I should have got a speeding ticket.

the ticketing officer gave me a break because my mom with cancer was in the car.

I dont know how upset the cop was I think he was just confused about what was going on.

He let you off totally , then why were you even in court then?

was the ticket expensive though, so the cop said he will give the fine but no pts, very common

I think getting caught by a radar detector-detector is less of a risk than them pulling you over for speeding and seeing the radar detector itself, IIRC at least older models were pretty conspicuously visible on top of the dashboard.

I live in Maryland but drive in Virginia a lot and it's not worth risking an additional fine, VA is already pretty trigger happy when it comes to slapping people with reckless driving charges.
