all the ingredients in case of food poisoning, allergies, etc?

What if I'm vegan and I'm eating an imitation steak, but it's using enoki mushrooms instead of tofu and I'm allergic? There's too many personal injury suits that it seems like a liability not to disclose any recipe. Can someone tell me how I'm seeing this wrong?

Places use a general allergen warning that states they can't confirm that any given item doesn't have this or that; and to inform your server of any allergies you have.

Thus, it's the customers responsibility to inform their waiter if they have an allergy to a food item, whether the customer knows if it's in the dish or not, for safety reasons.

My mom was both a celiac and allergic to corn. After the diagnosis, she called Coke to find out if she could still drink Diet Coke, since wanted to get all wheat and corn out of her diet. While they couldn't say the ingredients, they could confirm it didn't have either of those.

interesting...so in theory by calling Coke and asking if they use a certain ingredient or not -- repeat 1000000 ingredients known to existence--you could essentially find out their secret coke recipe?
