That's what I always hear. I never use my debit card for anything. I pay for everything with credit cards for free cash back. Literally free money. And since I tend to pay off my balance (usually before it even gets put on the statement), I have paid $0 in interest since getting my general purpose card back in 2017. Think I've gotten $1000s of dollars in cash back so far.

Overall yes.

But the biggest thing is moreso that they haven't taken your money from your account. A bank isn't going to immediately reimburse you cash but on a credit card they can place the transaction on hold, adjust credit limits/interest etc.
