I never ignored anything. Im not being called out at all. Just responding to the topic. 10s of millions of minority republicans. We arent white nationalists. Sorry.

Yeah, as we all know, there were absolutely no minorities complicit in the Nazis actions.

At BEST, youre okay with belonging to a party full of white nationalists. Which youre going to conveniently fail to address, right? Here is your chance.

And dont just repeat yourself about moving goalposts. I just got here and Im solely commenting on what you are currently saying. My goalposts are right here, set up right now.

Hey why dont you stop ignoring Trumps north Korea statements that you were sealioning about in the other topic, if you never ignore anything?
Or him openly quoting Hitler about poisoned blood. It's almost like every bit of empirical evidence tells us what the party he supports wants and he's trying to tell us that a party wanting to strip back rights for everybody who isn't a rich cis het white male Christian that openly courts white nationalists isn't a white nationalist party.

generally I agree with "not every republican is a white nationalist but everyone in American politics who votes and is a white nationalist votes republican".

Trump definitely is a white nationalist, so it does say a lot to me about everyone who still follows him. I genuinely do wonder what everyone in the party who doesn't at least tolerate (at minimum in the "this is obviously bad, but he's also in my party so I see no reason to condemn him" way) his rhetoric is still doing in it.

There is no difference to me between a white nationalist and a person who isn't a white nationalist but votes for white nationalists.

The results qualify the actions in this case.

It's either denial or willful ignorance along the lines of "well I haven't encountered it..." Like that link in post #97 about Rob Smith. He's a black gay guy who identified as a conservative until he had a group of guys surround him and call him slurs at a conservative convention. Now he's saying he's out. It took him being personally affected for him to bail on the party.

ZMythos posted... The way I see it, Republicans fall into 3 categories.

1) people who are white nationalists and know that they are
2) people who are nationalists who don't realize/deny that they are
3) people who aren't aware of the white nationalists or pretend there aren't any

How would they not fit into any of those 3 categories?

The "issue":

  • A democratic cabinet position is held by someone that once attended classes at a college where this one controversial leftist said something pretty radical.

Conservative response: "The entire left of center political establishment is corrupt and must be cleansed of these anti-American elements!"

  • Multiple known and publicly open white nationalists and what nationalist adjacent actors are placed into high level cabinet positions, win elections, and become welcomed media figures within mainstream republican electoral politics.

Conservative response: "But there's a black one too, so it's not racist."

Unless they completely fall apart without him, Project 2025 becomes Project 2029, 2033, 2037, etc until they've accomplished their goals or die trying.

This is why we need to proverbially beat the Republican party into the ground at the voting booth. To squash this nonsense completely.

"Excuse me, they didnt put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down, of to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name." - Donald Trump

Let's set aside the fact that Trump is clutching pearls over the removal of a statue to a Confederate leader. Let's also assume for the sake of argument that the Unite the Right rally was a gathering of non-racist conservatives who wanted their non-racist conservative voices heard.

The very instant literal Nazis showed up to march alongside them, very fine conservatives would have crossed the street to stand shoulder to shoulder with liberals to protest the presence of, again, literal Nazis. They didn't. At best, they tolerated literal Nazis because their shared support of Donald Trump was more important to them than denouncing white supremacy.

In other words, there were no very fine conservatives at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.

They also never seem to care about the massive influx of Russian immigrants for some reason either, despite them being a much larger potential threat to the country.

Some jerk reported me saying Nazis are bad and some mod moderated it as if I was insulting the person I quoted, despite the fact I was only speaking about the Republican Party, so I got warned for two days. Absolutely no rule breaking happened, but someone got salty I called out republicans for supporting Nazis. Sure do love this website.

Essentially got modded for abuse/harassment for answering the topic question with yes. Classic.
