What are some songs that were once hugely popular, hit the charts, got tons of airplay and fans, massively successful pop songs, that nowadays get a lot of backlash by the internet at large; get mocked on worst song ever lists, called trash and garbage etc.
I have a couple examples. There's Piano Man by Billy Joel that's the victim of a backlash against Bully Joel and general and itself in particular as a hack job, poorly written, stupid lyrics etc And there is We Built This City by Jefferson Starship that is widely considered in memes and in popular culture like tv show jokes now to be quite possibly the worst song of all time.
