You don't want to look at AirBnBs for one night/short stays, it's not worth it. AirBnBs are valuable for longer stays.

It's the sole reason my family has decided to not rent an Air B&B property when they go on their vacation. AirBnB needs to have strict rules when it comes to their service. At no point should the home owner return to their property without prior notice. The rules should be simple and to the point: No wearing shoes in the house, don't destroy the house, and do a basic tidying up before you leave. And by basic tiding up I just mean don't be a slob. Put your trash in the garbage before you go, and put the dishes in the dishwasher if there is one. You don't need to take out the trash, you don't need to run the dishwasher, that will be the job of the maid service.

And for gods sake lower the cleaning cost to something reasonable, like 200 bucks.

I know people like to shit on Airbnb, since they're excessively expensive with the fees, but I use then still. I'll agree hotels have a lot of advantages but sometimes you can get something unique or in a spot where it really feels like you're part of the place.
