Such a mind blowing scene. But seriously, I didn't expect Howard's story to go there.

Jesse goofing around and he and Walt going after a fly in slap sticky manner. All the while...

Forreal, I'm actually shocked at how reasonable he was in most interactions. Jimmy treated him like absolute shit.

Yeah, Howard didnt deserve that. Honestly, both McGill brothers collectively ruined his life.

Agreed. Chuck is arguably responsible for how the entire show plays out.

Howard was a bit of an asshole boss, but god damn did he not deserve any of that. Just his whole last 2 or 3 years of his life were made hell by the McGills. He tried too. He grew as a character, dealt with his depression and mourning and tried to make amends. Look where it got him.

Lalo absolutely did not need to kill him. With how cautious he was after Jimmy bailed him out and in Germany I was kind of shocked he would completely unnecessarily off a non-obstructive bystander like that. Even Fred was refusing him the info while he could've easily just told drunk Howard he had private stuff to discuss with them.

I like how well they subverted the expectation with Howard. Initially you assume he's going to be asshole, rich boss that has redeemable qualities but he ends up being one of nicest characters in the show

I think after everything that happened with Lalo's attempted assassination, he was just on edge and looking for blood. It also could have been him trying to intimidate Jimmy and Kim.

I think Howard was a good person. I mean, he really tried to make peace with the people in his life and I don't think there was a genuine malicious bone in his body. Even after everything Jimmy and Kim did to him, he was far nicer to them than he needed to be. Even before he got killed, he was trying to de-escalate the situation and protect Jim and Kimmy rather than trying to get the fuck out of there.

Howard was probably my favorite character. Which is why he had to die.

Howard was nice in comparison to other characters, but he was a nepo-baby prick for a lot of the show

Probably for the former. It did show that he was deteriorating and was bound to lose to me. For the latter they were already intimidated and scared enough by just his presence.

On a related note, I saw Bob Odenkirk on the Hollywood sign hike a few weeks back. Sounded like he was on the phone with someone, so I didn't get to say anything to him, but it was cool to see him.

That scene legitimately made me feel bad, afterwards when Mike is searching his body and the guys throw him into the hole, it was done perfectly. The tune that plays in the background is harrowing.
