Bruh, you need some stitches, at the very least, and I'd be worried about the tendons.

Should probably see a doctor if you can't move your hand. Next time that happens yank the aggressive dogs tail and lift them up by it and their back legs. They'll release their bite almost immediately.

yeah i split my hand worse than this once and it was fine, just took longer to heal than it would've otherwise. closed the huge skin flap over the wound, taped it up and bandaged my hand. bob's yer uncle. easy peasy.

but yeah with animal bites definitely get some dettol or iso and antibiotics and clean that shit. i had to spend a week in hospital back in august cause of a cat bite, lol

It turns out doctors take animal bites SUPER seriously. It was just a minor infection but they were talking about debriding my skin and doing exploratory surgery but thankfully it cleared up lol. but at the same time they diagnosed me with mild rheumatoid arthritis. All for $0 :)

The nurse told me they get at least 2 a week (cat bites), so that made me feel a bit better lol.

Clean the wounds as best you can with soap and warm water. If you leave it dirty it will get infected. Yes it will hurt like hell, but its better than an infection.
If you have any topical antibiotics like Neosporin, apply it after you clean it. Then cover the holes with a bandage to prevent them from getting more dirty.
Most importantly, get to the doctor ASAP for some antibiotics. Dog bites can lead to severe infections.

You should call a doctor and schedule a video visit where you can show them your hand over camera and they can tell you what kind of drugs you'll need.

If you neglect it you could be losing that hand later.

Rabies is a good call but unless one of the dogs shows symptoms within 2 weeks, tc should be clear.

Supposed to soak my hands in warm soapy water and scrub my wounds to make sure they stay open for the infection to come out. Andddd if anything gets worse go back and possibly go to a real hospital.

My fingers can move today, so it may have just been the swelling that was stopping them. They still hurt like a bitch tho well hopefully not for long if you know what im shaying

Thats the worse place to be bit by a dog or cat. They have tons of bacteria that can be deposited straight into the many many layers of the cartilage in your fingers and knuckles. If not treated immediately it could spread systemically and permanently damage your entire hand. Absolute worse case scenario you could actually die from sepsis.

Thats an extreme outcome but still, its a very serious situation. If it doesnt get better in a few days, or if it gets worse, you should go to the hospital because youll need antibiotics a lot more powerful than amoxicillin and possibly need surgery to properly clean out all the infection.

In terms of infection it doesnt really matter. Bacteria is bacteria. An 8lb cat can fuck your hand up just as bad with an infection. The size of the dog would only be a factor in physical trauma, like breaking bones. Youd only know that from x-rays. But even with no broken bones, the infection alone will be very painful until inflammation goes down

I'm glad you can move your fingers. My dog bit me like that and it literally hit a nerve and locked two of my fingers in place. I needed surgery and was out of work for a while.

3+ years later, my hand still goes wonky sometimes. And now my fingers are going numb as I type this because it happens every time I talk about it.

I had a collar bone injury and my right scapula swiveled around to where it is upside down.

When I requested an examination some 5 years later the bone doctors said it is all normal.

In highschool I separated my cat and dog outside... got inch deep cat bites all over my hand near my thumb for my troubles. Hand swole up, and I couldn't move it, so I went to the doctor the next day.

They put in a stint... and I, a 16 or 17 yr old, had to set up the IV bag every morning and administer my own antibiotics >_>

Tore out my stint in gym once and had to go back and have it put back in, they don't normally take such precautions for dog bites as far as I am aware... but the infection can be brutal.

Definitely get it checked and get those antibiotics.

*edit, good... should have kept reading lol
