I wrote an essay on how great Barret is , so let me write on about Toph.

My favorite character is Toph. As someone with a disability, I always appreciate characters who also face challenges. What sets Toph apart is that despite her disability, she accomplishes things most people in her situation could not. It feels more authentic( I know that is odd to say in this case) to me than some other portrayals, like Daredevil. I dislike how they portray Daredevil as simply blind when he actually has heightened senses that make him superior to others. Similarly, Geordi from Star Trek also has exceptional vision. Matt can freaking see colors. Geordi can see hot. But Toph faces real challenges like simple things like not being able to read. Not being able to know where they were going. And needing someone to hold her hand, to get safety. Most of the times it is Sokka so he comes in second. Best Big Brother on tv.
