It's usually discussion posts for school assignments that center around humanities courses. Sometimes you'd see posts that are beyond edgy, but their thought process is rationalized well through their critical thinking. Other times, you'd get lazy posts that have full on fragments and sound like bits and pieces were taken from other articles. For this one particular class though, I've encountered a lot of classmates that try to sound "educated" by using big words--sometimes malapropisms--that end up forcefully creating awkward sentences that just don't flow.

For example, there was a question about cultural ancestry and whether or not DNA would link you to a specific lineage. One student wrote something like, "Convalescently, I don't believe the structural integrity of one's lineage would be dubiously compromised, because what determines who you are is your kinship/connection. That said, DNA is structurally meant to define who you are, whether or not the blood defines your culture."

Wtf? How do I have an actual discussion with what I'm given? I'm required to reply to at least 2 classmates, but I'm not given enough content to reply with anything substantive. Do I just auto-bot my reply with: "HI _____ I like your post, your point on ____ made really great sense. Great job on your post. Thank you very much."

I just want to take nothing but accounting courses already.

Just say "I disagree" and see how the professor likes it.

Well, if people make an effort to write their own thoughts on forums like these, what are the chances that the same type of people will exist in these school board settings? I'm sure more than a handful. I like to think that posters have an ego that prevents them from relying on AI or plagiarizing.

The problem with your example isn't even that they used big words. Their post is just like, "no, but also yes." It just doesn't leave you much to dispute.

But as the others have said, surely there's other people you can respond to.
