There was at least some sass and sarcasm and all ages jokes in the original anime, this new show is so damn squeaky clean and cuddly.

The first two episodes were decent, after that it was straight up garbage. The only good thing about it was Sprigatito's cuteness.

I love how loose and crazy season 1 of the OG anime was. I saw a bit of Journeys and it feels kinda sterile >_>

Alright so I was 20.

It changed every gen past 3 or 4 iirc, but Gen 7 had the most drastic change with making Ash look chibi

You should read the translation of the late Takeshi Shudo's novelization of the anime, that man had some wild ideas that never materialized in the main series. He was the head writer of the original anime and wrote the script for the first three movies, he left a blog where he talked about his time spent as head writer of the original anime. Suffice to say while the vision of Satoshi Tajiri was a fantastical and idealized version of his childhood Shudo saw Pokemon setting about humanity vs nature and the conclusion was a revolt which he compares to Spartacus slave revolt against Rome.
