The peak was about $50k, so this is a huge improvement.

More interesting to me is the spike near EOY, which is when i presume the next-model-year releases come out.

Id like to see this broken out by vehicle class. Because cadillacs and corollas are not the same and not comparable to get to that 50k average. Or heck, maybe a median figure instead.

Call me when you can buy a truck for 30k. I was looking at a new one since my 95 f150 was getting to expensive to fix and sold my chevy Silverado flat bed

Seriously even used prices for vehicles in decent condition are ridiculous these days.

Unless fuel prices become unaffordable, I dont see myself buying a new car.
I also think electric cars are only a temporary solution until hydrogen fueled cars become more common

Even small trucks were going for over 30k like 10 years ago.

Assuming thats USD, that plays. It's hard to find WRXs around here. From what i did find, 2022 used is going for 36k CAD, but its base level. Automatic.

Theres a total of just 3 available within a 100km radius of me.

I hope hydrogen cells will be the new alternative.

I've been driving a plug-in hybrid for about seven years now and before then I was paying about $20 a typical week for gas (i.e. mostly or entirely just commute for a typical week). Since then, I've gone months to a year without filling up. With gas prices being higher since then, I estimate I save $1000+ a year. The vehicle cost me about $20-22k new after incentives, so I think I did well. I wish there were more plug-in hybrids out there, they're the best stopgap until battery tech improves.

You'll be hoping until the end of time because there are so many problems with hydrogen and the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that Toyota makes (i.e. basically the only hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that one can buy) use a battery anyway. You might as well go plug-in hybrid then.
