Equality is worth defending. I'm not going out to fight some random Joe who has a backwards opinion, but if someone were hypothetically trying to bring back full blown slavery*, yeah preventing that is worth getting my hands dirty.

*Yes I know we already have slavery via prison labor.

Sort of. If it's just to draw attention or a relatively negligable impact, nope. If I could actually fix the problems through that, or even make a serious impact on them, it becomes a lot more worthy of consideration.

Still, I'd like to hope there's more peaceful options than that.

Unless you are literally threatening me or my families life, no. I do mean literally btw.

I'm not talking about killing over idle threats thay one should be able to use common sense doesn't warrant murder.

I'm 100% no on killing over something ridiculous as religious beliefs.

The defeat of tyranny in all its forms is well worth fighting for.

I mean, I believe in defending people I care about, and it is my designated role to take that option should the situation be dire enough. But I'm not going to any extremes just because someone flipped the bird.

If I threw my life away for a cause I believed in, I would leave behind loved ones who depended on me. I don't know if it's cowardice or sensibility.

Logically, I'd say yes, but I don't believe I'm capable of taking a life, and I would rather just avoid violence.

I would hope it would be a cause they also believe in and would find worth the risk/sacrifice.

Though personally, as someone whose job involves fighting for their country, I wouldn't care for/love someone who didn't hold similar beliefs or care for about my country. Like my family supports my decision but even if they didn't, their lack of support wouldn't influence my decision.

Not to die for atm. Though I'm still strengthening my beliefs. Idk how solid they'll be in the end. Kinda doubt I'd be willing to die still.

I don't have it in me to kill anyone though. I'm not into that stuff.

I don't think I could ever be confident that a country's military would sacrifice me for a noble, worthwhile cause.

They could just as easily send me to die to protect corporate interests, or oppress a population.

You realize you can live for a long ass time and also have found meaning in that life. Whereas if you die for your beliefs, you'd damn well hope it was worth it but you won't be finding out either way. To me that seems more pointless, if you're dead you can't protect anything anymore.

The situations in which self sacrifice is actually necessary are often very few. It's more likely you'll have died and changed nothing.

Correct. But that's also what allows me to say this objectively. It goes against human nature to die. Dying for your beliefs is no different from dying from anything else that wasn't natural causes or accident/illness. The worth of it is the same: nothing. You can only accomplish things if you are alive. Thinking that your death would mean anything is incredibly foolish and conceited. It is the very rare individual whose death accomplished more than their life.

I could see myself going into the the military, to defend something I believed in.

People died so I could have rights and freedoms they didn't have, the least I can do is be willing to die to keep those freedoms alive for future generations.

Because I believe in civil rights I can't just let people who believe in killing black people keep on doing it. Technically I will force my beliefs on them.
