Unbelievable how much the right strategy makes.

Took me like a couple of attempts and maybe an hour of my time. Couldn't do that when I was 15.

I did that once as well. Not worth it considering how balls easy that game is.

That's what I did.

It's still a slog though. Really gutting to get 90 bolts in and slip up.

This. The trick is almost mandatory on the remastered version; not so critical (but still useful) on PS2.

Only two celestial to get now: butterfly hunt and blitzball.

Saving blitzball for last as it'll be a slog. I also never managed to do the butterfly hunt, hoping youtube and HD will save me here.

If blitzball doesn't give it away then you just don't know it

I often see people on the Internet talk about how hard this was and it never struck me as that hard. I'm not some elite gamer by any means but this really wasn't much of a challenge when I did it. Compared to most of the challenges from the NES era when I was younger this one didn't even register to me really.

I really hope this doesn't come off as dismissive. I'm sure there are things that were hard to me that weren't for others. We all have such different experiences often. So awesome job man, glad you cleared a long time hurdle.

I need to do this. Getting 100 Super Jumps in SMRPG last year was my equivalent white whale in gaming >_>

This is one of those challenges I would never even attempt because of the monotony of it. I'd screw up from boredom.

That's a rate of 10 dodges per year!

I remember getting almost all the Ultimate weapons in the game when I was younger, but I could never do the 200 dodges, even with the crater trick.

This is my biggest reason for not doing it even with the crater.

The idea of getting like 185 dodges and then messing up once kills any motivation I have in doing it lol

The butterfly hunt is definitely much easier on the HD version. I struggled heaps with it on PS2 but got it first try, without a map, on PS3.

butterfly catching isn't too bad outside of a few janky camera angles. i think the ultimania guide has a path in its maps that's pretty useful

I didnt think it was that difficult on PS2. The strategy I used was basically doing it at 3 AM when it was pitch black, probably muting the TV, so there were no distractions.

When I get to that point on the Remaster, Ill use the crater trick or maybe even see if theres just a mod to make it automatic.

Where I quit was trying to kill all the super beasts. Think the cactuar or marlboro trolled me I ended up just giving up.

Those two, especially Cactuar King, are among the easiest of the superbosses tbh

You would've been better off if you spread the blitzball throughout the whole game. If you save it all for the end it will seem like a slog.

Maybe, I don't really remember. I do know I did like half the beasts and there were like 3-4 that I couldn't beat.

Next do the jump rope in 9.

ffx has some of the woat side activities

Theres a trick, one little crater will always trigger it so you get the timing down you just run over it again and again. Its pretty easy but when you get past 150 its stressful.

I did all that side shit except Chocobo catcher which can eat my whole ass..

I never did it but my younger sister did. Since Yuna was my most OP character, I can't say that I really "needed" to, though I definitely tried it a couple of times anyway.

Don't remember if I did the crater truck or not, but do remember I had all the ultimate weapons. Had 100%'d that game.

Congrats. I gave up a year or two ago.

And that's a wrap on the butterfly miniga.e. mad respect for anyone that was able to complete that on PS2 at 480p, because damn that was a bitch.

Now the most time consuming one: wakkas.

I did it a few years ago for the first time. The crater trick is a lifesaver. Think the butterfly one was the only truly pain in my ass one.

I love Blitzball, to the point I have my personal dream team so I end up not playing a single game until near the end game, because I can't recruit everyone I want until that point. So, Wakkas is my favorite to go for.
