I am voting for Biden because he isn't going to turn the country into a christofacist state.... or at least allow it to go further that way. Because of this, I feel a lot safer living here as a gay man. Am I particularly thrilled about my choice? No. Do I know it's the best one I have? Yeah.

No, we knew this would happen. Trump announced he was running again very early and of course Biden would seek reelection. The only way of avoiding this rematch was Trump going to jail.

It doesn't even matter if this hypothetical independent person actually won. To mediate the 2 parties would mean both camps would have to agree to terms and conditions the other side doesn't particularly like. What you are asking is pretty impossible.

Biden for example, a lot has passed under his administration but somehow we still manage to get both camps to claim he's horrible.

The fact that we have a portion of the youthful left, us black people, hispanics, and white people acting like this hasn't been the most progressive president in their lifetime that's done a lot for them speaks for itself. Their interest isn't to acknowledge the progressive agendas or helpful agendas that was a step in the right direction. Their only interest is to act like it was nothing because "it's not enough." That and ofc Israel, which I'd agree isn't doing a fantastic job..... but at the same time dealing with Israel isn't as simple as they think it is. The point being, if your attitude is, "he's not Trump", but you claim to be progressive, it says a lot.

Then you have Republicans who are just pure obstructionist who seem to be almost like bad Saturday morning cartoon villains with their blatant agendas. Republicans are all about causing chaos, misery, forced theocracy, anti science, anti education in general, lately embracing anti democracy sentiments.... literally. I could honestly go on and on. So if a non Republican dares to want to something like help the common folk or dares to criticize their Orange Jesus, their only agenda is to please the Orange Jesus and political theater. Even when you give these people exactly or mostly what they want, they still obstruct.

Republicans are far far far far worse and its not even close. Now Im not surprised about swing voters and non voters being the dunces they are. Also not surprised about the right, whos sole mission is to be chaos clowns who love the unintelligent. Whats astonishing to me is those who claim to lean left, but honestly peddle the only reason they are voting for Biden is because "he's not Trump." While still peddling right wing talking points as if this administration hasnt passed the most progressive and helpful policies in their lifetime despite what they were up against which is the shit show that is Congress. The portion of the left that listens to people like Charlemagne, Rose Twitter or Kyle Kelinski.

This is why it's hard for me to gauge where you're actually at. Explain to me how it was a "really concerning Super Tuesday" when he dominated the results far more than Trump did.

idk what you mean?? Some of the shifts in Super Tuesday were really concerning. Espcially among rural Hispanics and in MN.

[Aside from hardcore political supporters] in my experience regular people who talk shit about Biden do not follow politics, have almost no idea what is going on around them, and should generally be disregarded.

They cannot be reasoned with, argued with, or educated. The best outcome possible is to not encourage more of them.

Hispanics have long been a fragmented coalition that swings from hard right to a sort of crimson purple. Not even accounting for the rural part.

And what about Minnesota? The Republican party is basically broke there, there were fistfights in some of the Republican caucus locations, and according to the results Biden got three times as many delegates.

And looking at all the Super Tuesday results Biden got a higher share of the votes for his partys election in every state. Meaning even if some of those numbers are for Democrats in open primary states hate voting for Haley, in a general election Democrats have at least an 8 point advantage working from these numbers.

Like a lot of people, I do want Biden to win, and not for Trump to just lost.

That doesn't mean I'm ever excited about voting for any crusty old super rich dude that will never be close to in touch with the majority of the population.
