He literally tried to steal the election, attempted a coup, has talked about siccing the FBI on his enemies, putting soldiers on the streets on day 1 and suspending the consitution. He has stated he should have absolute legal immunity and that police should be more violent and have unlimited indemnity.

Does he have to send you a signed fucking letter stating he will do whatever the fuck he can to cling to and abuse power for you to listen to his explicit admissions that he intends to abuse his power and is willing to engage in election fraud or coups to get that power?

I bet you would walk into a multi tornado storm with baseball sized hail, a dozen bolts hitting the ground every second and call someone telling you to follow them to the storm shelter a chicken little.

They never have anything to say about this because they love it, or Fox news didn't report on it so it didn't happen

I'm not sure if I can explain what the penalty is, but he should face the maximum sentence for treason. Why he's still allowed to run, much less be a free man, is beyond me. I would think that even the GOP would want rid of him. I guess sticking it to liberals is worth shaking hands with the devil.

But if he had the power to make himself king, he would have done so. I know he got distracted by social media wars, but he'd do the same thing again if he were elected. We'd have four more years of the same -- assuming he lived that long. I say he's lucky if he has three years left before natural causes claim him.

But he won't be elected and America won't fall to complete and total fascism. At least not yet.

I honestly dont understand how American society does nothing in response to these warning signs. Actually, I shouldnt be surprised considering that America ignores warning signs based on the numerous mass shootings that happen in this country and little to nothing is done to prevent mass shooters (shooters families and law enforcement having been told of the warning signs and the families doing nothing time and again).

On a state level, things are getting bleak indeed.

There are states where you don't want to live if you're LGBTQ and states where you don't want to live if you're Black, Brown, or anything other than White. On a national level, we're not looking at an end to democracy.

Saying that this isn't the final election isn't the same as saying that nobody will get hurt. And four more years of Trump as president would lead to the same hardship for people as when he was president the first time. When he calls COVID-19 the China virus and somebody beats an Asian woman to death the next day, that's on Trump. His tiny hands might as well have been the ones throwing the punches.

But do I believe that he'll in any way be able to take over this nation, lock, stock, and barrel? No. If he could have, he would have.

The extent to how fucked we are is definitely dependent on who wins. If we elect the party that passed the Inflation Reduction Act, we could have a fighting chance. If we elect the party that wants to leave the Paris Climate Agreement again, the future does look truly dismal for the state of modern society.

The poisonous defeatism youre helping spread doesnt help anyone and makes me think you want people to be apathetic toward the situation.

Edit: Not trying to accuse you of being undercover Maga or anything, but I just dont understand why you feel the need to spread the message that were already fucked before the election even takes place.
