I sometimes smack Jimmy Dean sandwiches
And then do McDonald's McMuffin's on rare occasion. Not sure what they cost rn

but before I venture back to that, is there a higher tier of this sandwich I can find elsewhere, done up any differently? I was guessing maybe there's room for onions and/or peppers. Are there better versions at other fast foods?

I got a Newsom Bread near me with a chicken/ciabatta thing. Not sure if that's just a gimmick.

Isn't there a YouTube channel dedicated to making gourmet versions of food like this?

I can imagine a way to make it (it's basically 4 parts), but I'm a fan of presentation. Knowing it came out of my kitchen where I was looking at it all the time already just ruins the fun for me.

Croque Madame
This is an interesting proposition. Maybe a little off the rails. Egg on top of the sandwich is like throwing cheese on top of a cat or dog a mockery, but maybe it works out.

So I go this today
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/e/e5e5727b.jpg

Typical fast food contrast of presentation.
Generally it tastes decent, but apart from getting me out the house early on a Sunday, I don't think it's compelling.

$6.99 is a bit more than McDonald's (California), but you can look at this in so many ways. No way McDonald's should be anywhere close to this price point, but that's just the reality now. Bottle of soda is almost $3, if I buy milk tea it's about the same price of this sandwich.

It creates an unfortunate outlook that fast food is probably just not worthwhile anymore in terms of economical efficiency.

Local spot kinda delivered. Amount of food fort he money was on point, but I think it's shaping my philosophy that these shouldn't be too large. It takes away from the snack factor

It's incredibly easy to cook up a patty made from ground pork at home. I make way better breakfast sandwiches than McDonald's and it takes me all of 10 minutes maybe

Look for ones made with bagels by specifically bagel shops. Those will be far better on average.

One of my local family owned BBQ shops makes and packages their own smoked sausage, and it's by far the best I have ever had. See if you have a local butcher or BBQ place that gets their meat from a butcher and sells their own breakfast sausage.

There's a bagel place near me. It's just, bagels can get heavy. But this might be the soonest experiment this weekend.

This will be a mission. Butchers are in an area of town I've resigned from entering. Angle I may be playing is trying to workout through delis but that usually involves more of a lunch sandwich specialty.

The cheese is a tricky one. Pepper Jack is my move for everything but it wasn't hitting in today's sandwich. However yes, hot sauce. With the Jimmy Deans at home I sometimes add sauce to every bite.

It's so much more fun when it's just magically there, wrapper and everything >_>
But really, I've never worked with ground pork before, so I gotta get to that eventually.
