Why don't they? Safety-to-cost ratio not working in favor of the business installing the freezer?

Who needs to install anything like that when you can just let the employee die, pay the paltry fine, and then hire a 15-year-old on the cheap to replace them?

I've been inside freezers with doors that have a knob or button to press to open the door from the inside, I have no idea why this isn't standard. What reason is there to not include a way to open it from the inside? --- PSN: LoveLikeJazz https://soundcloud.com/pacuta ... Copied to Clipboard!

it sounds like the freezer did have a latch, but it was broken and the management didn't wanna pay to fix it. so they literally prioritized profits over safety and it cost a woman her life. they should be sent to prison.
so yes, it should be OSHA requirement that all walk-in coolers. etc have a working escape latch. --- I hope something good happens to you today Playing: Headlander ... Copied to Clipboard!

i did some digging and found an article that talks about other instances of this happening.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/arbys-freezer-death-lawsuit-nguyet-le/ In 2017, the family of Carolyn Robinson Manghan, a 61-year-old kitchen worker who died after being stuck in a freezer for 13 hours, sued the Atlanta hotel where she worked. The suit alleged there were problems with the freezer at the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel. their negligence lead to someone's death and their consequence? $12,000 fine. jfc. --- I hope something good happens to you today Playing: Headlander ... wait, is that not standard?I figured it should be but assumed it wasn't because of this incident. I didn't realize there was a latch but it was just broken. --- PSN: LoveLikeJazz https://soundcloud.com/pacuta ... Copied to Clipboard!
