Man my food budget is out of control since I get about $15-$35 or more take out per day. I gotta start getting serious about saving money and I could be saving $300/month from food alone like I did when I brought my own lunch to work for one month a while back.

Please suggest some super duper cheap ass food I can buy/make that tastes great so I can save money. Costco's $1.50 hot dogs, $1.99 slice pizzas and $4.99 rotisserie chicken seem like good deals

Beans and rice are the classic cheapie, though the great taste is all down to how you season them. I like to give a little kick to mine, make 'em taste like chili.

Don't just buy pre cooked food. Learn to prepare your own meals. Frozen meats are decently priced if you don't focus on getting organic or ultra lean meats. Find some recipes that fit your tastes, season it properly, add some veggies and starches (potatoes, bread, rice, pasta) and you've got some meals.

My go to is seasoned baked chicken, rice and green beans. Cheap and healthy

Why is your solution buying more ready to eat/prepared foods? If you're going with Costco, the Kirkland frozen chicken chunks are good.

Otherwise staples like rice and beans and eggs are good. My go to meal is chicken breast with spinach and some carb like couscous.

This is what I eat for lunch basically every weekday:

1/4 pound of sliced turkey
1 Gala Apple
1 oz Nature's Promise Vegetable Straws

The turkey is usually $12 a pound, so it runs me about $14ish to get a pound and a quarter.
A 3 pound bag of Gala Apples is usually $4.19, and usually gets me 8 apples
The Veggie Straws are $5 for an 8oz bag.

So my lunch for the workweek usually costs me around $24

If you don't mind being a little repetitive, get yourself a good chili recipe, and whip up a large batch of that. Canned beans, tomatoes, and chili sauce is dirt cheap, and the only real cost would be whatever meat you put in it, but even something like ground turkey is only $5 a pound.
