Terminator: Survivors is an open-world survival game set in the world of the famous sci-fi franchise Terminator, created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd in 1984. In this original story taking place after the first two films, you take control of a group of survivors of Judgment Day, in solo or co-op mode, faced with a multitude of lethal hazards in this post-apocalyptic world. But youre not alone. Skynets machines will hound you relentlessly and rival human factions will fight for the same resources you desperately need.

Defy the machines and build the resistance in Terminator: Survivors will be released on early access for PC (Steam) on 24 October 2024 and coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.

Please just let this franchise die.

Looking at the studio...they e only have 2 motorcycle games listed. I'm already hesitant because the trailer is all CGI and honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's GaaS too.

Releasing in early access!? That's a travesty for a big company using a big IP.

It's just one of the rare few genres, if not the only genre, where people tolerate Early Access being a thing. It's "easy" to create a map, some enemies and some stuff to craft and then slowly update the game with new content over the years compared to trying to get the next big Esports game.

Generation Zero already exists though. The other Terminator game was good but this eh

Every single sentence in that description is a red flag.

Games as a service need to die a horrible miserable death.

They're just another cancer cell on top of the big cancer cells that is microtransactions and lootboxes.

We can blame the wallet whales for all this crap that companies think is acceptable and continue to do more and more.

Not all companies pull this crap but unfortunately a lot do like EA,Blizzard,Capcom,Microsoft,Sony,etc

From Soft doesn't as far as I'm aware.

Cosmetic microtransactions that aren't super aren't a problem, locking music behind a pay wall,releasing pay to win weapons or characters like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game recently did with Danny and Nancy is the problem or like Blizzard recently did with The Horse bundle for Diablo IV.

DLC that is more expensive than the base game is never ok but there's people who keep supporting this anti consumer bullshit so this shit will never end.

No it was a trend multiple times before live as a service was even a thing

Maybe would be interesting if this was an mmo and people could be on the machine side too. Make it a pvp game. Kinda like Planetside maybe

The success of Palworld is going to flood even more of these games into the market. They've been a reliable thing for like a decade now but Palworld really made people take notice.

Early access means they're not even that risky compared to most stuff.

To be fair, if this game is far enough along to go into early access this year, they were already working on it before Palworld launched.

But yeah, I can totally see the market being flooded with indie survival crafting games. Kind of like how 2D Metroidvania style indie games were everywhere for a while

There was Terminator Resistance a few years back. It was actually the only post T2 content that could fit in with the first 2 movies IMO.

Ill probably keep an eye on the game because im a sucker for anything Terminator. It helps to view everything besides T1 and T2 as non-canon.

SOLO you say? Well, lets not be too hasty on killing off this franchise yet. Keep drilling, offline-play would be the oil.
