Religion gave foundation for the basic of human culture, but it outlived it's purpose and offers very little positive things these days other than helping people feel better about death.

No, humans will always be assholes and try to kill each other over some made up bullshit or other.

In modern day, yes. It is horribly stagnant and causing many, many issues worldwide. Not that we'd be perfect little angels without it, but it would definitely improve quite a bit if it slowly recedes in the coming decades.

Yes. There was a time it was necessary. That time has long, long since passed, and it only survives on account of some people not being open to any ideas beyond the first one they hear.

Honestly yes. So many wars fought over conflicting religions. So many lands conquered simply to spread a religion. So much scientific discovery held back by religion (Eg. autopsies weren't common before the 16th century due religious beliefs)
