Heres something odd, players of Theatrhythm Final Bar Line have been attempting to play the game today, February 29th 2024, but have been unable to. It would appear that the leap day is not allowing the game to connect to Square Enixs servers to be played. Which is funny because its not online enabled at all.

Weve tested it on our consoles, and if you change the date of the console to any other day it works just fine.

Hopefully this can be fixed by the next leap year in 2028, otherwise youll have to just remember not to play Theatrhythm Final Bar Line on that day. Although a predominantly offline game should probably work when it doesnt have the internet anyway.

Lmao their response is to just deal with it until it goes away the next day? Although I guess it's probably difficult to find and fix the code this late in the day (I'm sure the developers are probably sleeping in Japan). It just sounds funny that all they said is it'll fix itself tomorrow.

I mean it's not a lie. It will fix itself tomorrow lol.

It may also be an issue they can't fix today, if one of the first things it checks is the date and then glitches. Which actually makes sense because the game checks the date and will celebrate a FF characters birthday if the date is right. So if priority one is an online/system date check, then it'll just cause the glitch.

It is funny though that they didn't have a proper calender for the next year of the games existence.

This is exactly what it was like when I had to prepare the entire department for Y2K.

I don't understand how ANY game that uses a calendar fails to account for Leap Day. Even shitty digital watches that don't keep track of the year at least have an option to manually set them to February 29th.
