I'm not really sure how this differs from what other large cities do. Personally, I always favor privacy over surveillance, and I generally feel that when government pushes hard for an increase in technology or powers for police, it is really covering for its own incompetence or general failure by promising something shiny was what was missing. --- Cuteness is justice!
