Huh, I guess you don't actually get the sheet music for Tifa's Song in the actual game. I sat at the piano and don't see an option to try it.

I had so much fun with the piano in the demo that I honestly hope that there are more chances to play.

Man....1997 me would be absolutely losing my shit with being able to jump around the environment and actually controlling sephiroth even if its for just a bit.

I've been playing on dynamic difficulty and so I notice some of these enemies is actually hurting (which hopefully means a nice challenge with the initial playthrough). I already know I am going to have a good time with this.

Ha, the synergy ability didn't have to do Cloud dirty.

I'm excited, but I probably won't be able to play it for about a month or so. I still have to get through the original FF7 (which I never played back in the day) then Remake before I get to Rebirth. Which I had planned on having beaten both before Rebirth came out, but Baldur's Gate 3 ended up absorbing all of my gaming time for the past 3 months lol.

I believe retail rebirth is using that patched performance mode from the demo by default because to me the game looks nice on performance.

I'm using a 65 inch samsung QN90B and its poppin' Got VRR runnin' on the PS5 and so far I noticed no fps drops.

Got the chapter 1 boss down, materia guardian. I picked dynamic difficulty and sephiroth legit almost died lol.

That's two people that have talked up Dynamic difficulty, maybe I should swap to that. I just picked normal without looking at the other options.

I love the slowed down remix of the One-Winged Angel chorus as Sephiroth walks through the flames.

And I'm not saying they deserved it but damn, the Mayor and his dudes could have at least taken a shot instead of slowly advancing on him lol.

The fact it took me like five tries to beat the dude openly weeping at this card minigame does not bode well lol

Yeah I remember back in the day someone on the boards was building a GameShark code for it and I was looking forward to that. It might have actually been on cheat code central or a site like that. Never got to play as him because at that point whatever was put out was unstable.

Anyway I'll get mine in the mail today. My fridge broke so that's gonna be the priority tomorrow when I get the new one in. I'll play after work today.

I'm sure I'm playing it a lot slower than most people would, I quit out after leaving Kalm. Did a tiny bit of combat. Didn't expect Red XIII to be a mostly counterattack and guard-focused character. Changing Aerith's special to be a ward-warp is pretty good. Haven't tried Tifa or Barret yet, don't know how they're different.

I don't have a PS5 so instead I have to play the RPGs game pass offera.

Just sort of curious. Do they flesh out Tifas MA mentor at all? He was sort of a random NPC that was unique yet left unexplored in the original.

He has more dialogue in the flashback sequence at the very least - no idea about the full game, but I presume he'll have some influence later too.

Maybe when it goes on a really good sale. Honestly I had a hard time enjoying the remake (didnt like the combat, Im old school, 6 being my first FF Im a sucker for turn based) and 7 is kinda low on my preferred final fantasys as well.

Don't have a PS5 so can't play. =/

This Horror on the Range combat challenge where you face the two toxic rats and elephants is impossible. This last attempt had Cloud immediately bound by one of the rats, then charged by both elephants, instantly killing him.

Yeah, these elephants just don't fuckin die. They're weak to fire, dumped a full Ifrit summon into them, and they're still at half health.

Fuck the piano minigame. Playing a note should be directing the stick plus a button press, not just directing the stick.

Took off Friday and...I've been playing it a bit. Around 26 hours and I'm at the Costa Del Sol area. Been playing Graphics mode. Which was fine for me after a short adjustment period. So far my biggest complaint is the uneven technical presentation (outside of performance mode issues). Similar to the last one, it looks great on the surface, but look close and the cracks start to show. Sometimes the lighting looks off. Sometimes there's an early PS3 level environment texture right in your face. The game also has a very aggressive LOD setting with stuff changing over to long distance versions when you barely more than a few feet away. Also, the game has a very nasty ghosting problem anytime you are near water, I'm guessing something to do with the awful SSR this game uses.

It's a love/hate thing at this point. I'm always like 200 points away from that perfect score, but I can never actually manage to get all greats.

Today I was really sick, cutting into my ff7 time by a lot so far.

My thumbs just suck and aren't precise, so it's definitely a struggle. And when you miss one, it usually turns into a small cascade of misses and bads. Be nice if they added an alternative mode that's more like a traditional rhythm game. Hell, two less notes per radial would probably even solve my issue.

Its a minor detail but I like how the game shows barret firing his gun when you have him out of the active party and so he is just shootin' from the backlines.

Aerith shoots her little magic blasts too. I think it even does a tiny amount of damage.

I'm assuming Red XIII and Tifa don't actually do anything, but I'll keep any eye out for Tifa shadowboxing.

It actually gives me vibes of breath of fire 4 with that game's backline system. I always wished more jrpgs would do stuff like this. Persona 5 also dabbled with it with teammates randomly taking potshots at the enemy.

It definitely needs some sort of fix, it's not very precise.

I just got Barretts theme and I was getting misses before the note even got to the end in the great zone. I was even clicking in that direction with the note lighting up while it said miss. So, something is fucked up.

I've seen both Red and Tifa moving around, and I'm pretty sure they weren't doing anything.

I kinda like being able to see them in the back though. It makes more sense. I wish they could be used in the backlines for at least suppot/ healing though

Man, the haunted hotel is actually even more out of place than ever in rebirth lmao.

Maybe in part 3 they will utilize the backline more and this is just an experimental phase. Love that you can use aynch attacks with the bacline at depserate times

I got the Fat Chocobo card and I have no idea what it does. Its ability says, "Creates a surfeit of positions around it when played."

Is its ability just literally describing the pawns it puts out? Because that seems weird.

Did the Chocobo thing and now I'm back in Kalm.

Getting the Mandrakes to not use Quick Nap took a while but it was because I was trying to kill all 3 at once. When I killed one at a time it was a lot easier.

Now I'm trying to do the flower wreath quest for Chloe but can't seem to find the way there.
