Just realizing the retirement age will extend to 69 at some point. Which makes me wonder if it's worth planning travel for retirement if I'm going to be limited in mobility. Maybe the trick is to "force retire" at 60 and live your 10 years enjoying your limited health.

My dad's 74. He's still mobile and mostly together. His short term memory has gotten more than a little bad, and there are things he can't really do anymore (like use a razor blade to shave because he can't see well enough, although that's more due to macular degeneration than just getting old).

Really depends on their physical and mental health to begin with, and also family history.

If I ever manage to make it to 70, I'm going to be in absolutely terrible condition.
