I don't think I can go back to microwaving these again. They are just so much better in the air fryer.

I have a Ninja air fryer, the drawer is about as big as a dinner plate and about 4 inches tall.

What you do is:

1) Score your hot dogs by making small slices along them. About 5 slices each with a sharp knife, I do them just diagonal from each other. This improves cooking and juice retention stuff etc. while preventing bursting and uneven cooking.

2) Pop them babies in the air fryer for 4 minutes at 350 degrees (you can do longer or hotter if you like them more burnt).

3) Bun them, then cook them again with the buns for an additional 2 minutes at 350, this will toast the buns.

4) Done. Add toppings if you want.

They're so damn good. Tastes almost like off the grill.

I find that cooking them in beer to be better. But yes, they are great, especially if you can add some grilled onion and brown mustard.

I used to microwave hotdogs as a kid, but now I think that's disgusting. I've never considered using my air fryer though, I just pan fry to get a good char.

Air fryers are basically magic

We all know how they work and it isn't that complicated, but there's no reason for the food to come out as good as it does on those things

Try cutting a cross-hatch pattern in your wiener next time you air fry it.

You can do this in the air fryer too. Butter/mayo the outside of your bread, add 2-3 slices of good melting cheese, cook for 7 minutes at 360F flipping halfway.

I have a Ninja fryer, too. Hot dogs and sausages are fantastic in them. I made some burgers last night and doing pork loins tonight.

Theyre just normal hot air ovens but produce somewhat different results.

An air fryer is so much better for reheating food in general compared to a microwave. Sure it takes longer but comes out so much better.

You don't add any canola oil to the bottom of the tray?

I've never once tried to fry without using some form of oil.

I'm currently on a frozen chicken patty kick as of late.

375 degrees for 10 minutes. Too lazy to even flip it halfway through. *lol*

Add cheese, shredded lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, and sauce on a toasty bun.

Definitely better than most fast food joints. :)
