- Batman, a private citizen, spying on probably hundreds of thousands of people to stop The Joker (even if only once).
- Batman and Gordon lying about the corruption of a public official to "keep the peace". - Joker being an example of another villain who's technically right about some things (like nobody caring about the lives of people who are "supposed to die"), but because he's so over-the-top evil, we'll always see him as the villain. --- I have nothing else to say ... Batman, a private citizen, spying on probably hundreds of thousands of people to stop The Joker (even if only once). This is part of the reason why the film is so captivating. I love when a protagonist has to choose between two morally ambiguous choices. It also delves into the philosophical discussion of whether one is entitled to disregard the law to prevent an act of greater evil. I can go further and relate it to the main character from Crime and Punishment, who held the belief that some people are obligated to disregard the law if they're able to achieve a greater good. So one could argue that Batman did the right thing given his position. --- This sentence has five words. This sentence has eight words. Only one sentence in this signature is true. ...
