Makes you look like a dumbass. With customers it's all within reason. Thats not reasonable. If they want to tell their friends so be it. Their friends can determine if they're being a jackass or not. As for me I was very reasonable but some things are just bullshit.

That's not what the person would realistically say.

If the person really thought they got it at Target, they'd complain that Target wouldn't return it. They aren't going to tell people they were trying to rip Target off if indeed that was the case.

Actually, I remember one manager when I worked at McDonalds who was great. One time a dude was being super unreasonable; yelling, demanding his food immediately and wanting free stuff when the manager explained that it was busy and there were people who ordered before him. When his unreasonable demands werent met, he got a refund and just started screaming and swearing even louder. The manager yelled WELL FUCK YOU, GET OUT!!. There was an awkward silence, but the workers were so happy to see someone finally stand up to an asshole like that, and especially a manager.

I kind of like the post office employees who work the desk. Even though they're customer facing they're union government employees and just say whatever they want with no consequences. Used to have a job where I had to go everyday and it was great seeing customers get what they deserve thinking the post office people gave a fuck.

My firm belief is the customer is often ignorant or a thief.

Every manager I ever had in retail/hospitality was always well aware that the customer is almost always wrong and/or an arsehole.
