"We scheduled you Tuesday to Saturday this week and Sunday through Thursday next week, so you don't get overtime pay because technically they're different weeks even though you're working 80 hours straight. Get fucked." Shit should be illegal.

It is in Illinois, as of the beginning of 2023. Hourly workers can't be scheduled seven consecutive days.

Demonoid once had a job where he'd work 12 consecutive 12 hour days, then get Saturday and Sunday off, the do the whole thing again.

Hasnt it been that way in IL for a while now? I know my boss wouldnt let me work certain weekends even in emergencies cause that was 7 consecutive days of working, so another coworker had to go in.

January 1, 2023. There were some frankly hilarious adjustments at my employer when they abruptly discovered that certain people going on vacation meant day shift management had to work the overnight shift at least once to cover.
