I think the bigger issue would be the ALL-female part.

Nah... I was just calling out some of the ridiculous responses from people when modern properties try to be more inclusive.

I'm a lefty and I don't really care too much... mostly I'm from the camp that says while I won't get upset if you remake a classic movie of one from my childhood, but my problem is the lack of originality from the studious and media conglomerates latching onto licenses and milking them until it starts to tarnish the original through saturation.

I have seen way too many bland or flat out bad remakes and reboots with no gender, or race, or sexuality changes, or feminist subtext, or civil rights era metaphors, or any other progressive message in them to know that the gender swap 'aint the issue here.
