That said, Dragon Quest fan for the most part since I got the original game via Nintendo Power. Have all main series games on my phone (1-6 and 8).

It was my first mainline game, and it's one of mine too.

I think it's because most of the story is a series of vignettes that aren't directly really related to an overall plot, and it does that for a REALLY long time. I can get how it can feel repetitive.

I read the manga way back. Story was as generic and mid as they get but the characters and their development throughout the series are what carries it. Pops perhaps being one of the best in my opinion.

The last arc though was pretty good and the final antagonist interesting compared to most others to say the least.

Oh I enjoyed that game. Just that it's not available in the US on mobile.

One I played the least if only cause I never did get around to playing the original version of it. Also 9.
