Figure I'd keep this separate from the other Infinite Wealth topic.

Man, I was pretty disappointed in it. This is the first time since Yakuza 4 that Kiryu and Haruka could've spent some quality time together and they just deny having some heart-felt reunion onscreen with Haruka, Haruto, and Kiryu. Haruka is even like "I can't wait to show Haruto to Uncle Kaz!"...and then they never show it lol. They just imply that it happens shortly after the ending. What the fuck. Plus is Kiryu gonna live or not? It seems like they left it open in case they want to drag his ass back in 9, which sucks

I also didn't like how they didn't resolve the IchibanxSaeko subplot. It barely means anything in the grand scheme of the plot and then they just sort of kick the can down the road to the next game I guess. The last scene with them was pretty funny tho >_>

I liked the story but really wish the ending was better. It wasn't *bad*, but there's so much potential they squandered with it for Kiryu's send off. Especially since Gaiden's ending was absolutely phenomenal.

What do you guys think?

Didn't care for it. The last runs for Kiryu and Ichiban felt rushed

Loved everything about it aside from the Saeko/Ichi stuff

Eiji could have used more building up, but I totally bought the whole thing. Ichi just does that to people. He did it the last game with a much worse man than Eiji. He makes people want to be better. And his capacity for forgiveness is insane due to the life he's led.

The Kiryu stuff, man when Kiryu decided not to see Haruka in the Date Link, I cried. I yelled at the screen. That was so hard.

But seeing Kiryu decide over the course of the game that he's got one fight left in him, and follow through with it, that was amazing. I was scared he was going to throw it all away but the fact he's putting up a fight meant the world to me, I cried for a long time after. Whether he earns some extra time out of it or not, that isn't the point. The point is he's trying. And not just for everyone else. He's doing it for him

I would have liked to have seen Haruka and Kiryu speaking, but I'm fine with not. Just the thought that she's waiting in his room and he'll see her after his session is enough. It doesn't matter what they say to each other, it doesn't matter if he beats his cancer or not. It was perfect for me

it's fine. they kept it ambiguous so they have room to move for the next game where haruka is the big bad

To be honest the whole game repeating the great dissolutionment was a huge turn off. The opening of the game with Ichiban trying to help people find work was way better than anything else. Like a Dragon was supposed to be the end of the Yakuza so Kiryu ending his story with maybe I should've stayed chairman didn't mean anything to me.

kiryu definitely should have stayed chairman though.

i will say im a bit disappointed at daigo's choices, as well as the lack of watase

i mean i get it though. these guys all made the same mistake as kiryu. they chose inaction, thinking that after that Tatara business they should go off grid and people would be better off

i just wish it was something else

Pissed poor Ichiban didnt get much time with his mom. She just fucked off back to Hawaii to watch over a girl she knew for what, a week? I mean she took the kid into hiding the night she met her. So its not like they had a long history.

Youd think she want to spend some time with her actual kid.

ichi's plot was pretty weak overall imo. his ending does so much heavy lifting for me. the akane stuff, the lani stuff, the bryce stuff

hell, i didn't even like his side gigs in this one. fuck i dont even like the hawaii setting either

still, game's a 10 and im not disappointed at all. just left a bit wanting

I swore his mom was gonna die. I'm kinda glad she didn't >_> and they did have a nice walk on the beach. I'm okay with what they did with her
