What a great series, Hank stole the series. The tone shift between season 2 and 3 was so intense. The time skip was unexpected, but I liked what it lead to. Really feel bad for everything Sally went through just for meeting Barry.

Yeah the tone shift is pretty big but I think especially on binging is very natural. The show was always dark and had dark moments to remind you this is actually about a assassin wrapped up in a comedy wrapper. Great show and I did not expect it to go where they went with that ending.

Yeah I just caught up on the show and finished it last month or so. I... waver on the ending. I totally get what they were going for with the movie and everything, but I also feel it's fair to question it like "there were still people alive who knew the truth, but they didn't speak up during the making of?"

I also think it's crazy that Sally was willing to move away with Barry to bum fuck nowhere and go into hiding like that. And to actually want to have his kid, when it was quite clear she never really was the type to want children let alone "share the spotlight" if you will? I rarely like timeskips and they're rarely any good.

And did Fuches just slink away into the night after that whole ordeal to get a happy ever after living in a huge mansion or what.

I didn't think there was a tone shift between season 2 and 3 so much as a quality shift between s1-2 and s3-4. I still liked the show but the last season's experimental borderline david lynch level direction was... definitely divisive.

We already knew from the season 2 finale that it was gonna get dark(er) and it's crazy that Barry even got away unscathed after shooting up a monastery but the cops have been shown to be idiots here so that's in line with the rest of the show.

Overall I still liked the show, and definitely became a fan of Bill Hader after the fact, watching some of his previous stuff.

Last couple of seasons were good enough but I liked it the most when when the acting class was involved. They were all hilarious.

Sometimes I like Dark shows but I vastly preferred season 1 of this show compared to the shift in tone. Noho Hank though was definitely the standout character of the show though. All in I liked it and thought Hader was great. Henry Winkler is excellent in everything he does.

Hank wasn't very funny in the last season.

But the ending was a good choice, even if the last season was kinda weak

My lasting impression was every main character had impossible dreams and aspirations, chose to "fake it til you make it" in the most extreme way to get there, and it completely destroyed them.

Like, they know they're all living a lie, but they don't care. They're reveling in fiction. The last shot of his son satisfied with the movie despite physically being there and knowing that's not what happened reinforces that.

The ending text of the biopic movie was such a funny punchline that I wonder if they were building up to it the entire time.

Noho Hank killed it. They all did, really. I guess that speaks volumes to how well he did.
