Then why the fuck are you running for political office?

*Actual quote from some dumb gopper on a political ad

Why is having zero experience in politics a selling point? I don't understand.

If you're running for a political seat/job/whatever, you are a politician.

Conservatives think everyone involved in politics is crooked so outsiders should run for office even though they're usually as much or even more crooked than the average politician.

Still, would you want your plumbing done by someone "not a plumber" or car work done by someone "not a mechanic"?

Basically, they're stupid.

well people may have voted for trump under the same idea, where he wasn't actually a politician, he's a businessman. which is really laughable when you consider that business is very much an exercise in politics of a different form.

People have this insane idea that "running the government like a business" is a virtue, even though these same people think the government should be completely starved of funding, which is the exact opposite of what people running a business try to achieve.

So does becoming a successful politician, it just uses a different skill set.

^That. And also you want someone who knows how the government works and who knows all the proper procedures, etiquette, etc. Most of these "non politician" folks act like obstructionist jackasses and it's embarrassing that these people help run the country in some fashion.

They think in terms of spite and hate.

They HATE politicians. So anyone who says they are not one must be good. And they will spitefully stick by it.

They never consider someone outside that could be even worse, a fraudster con man, who pretty much admits he was a corrupter of politicians. (And gullibles like Dave Chappelle are impressed by)

In other words, they are voting for the corruption directly now.

This is the same type of thinking behind antivaxxers, and they listen to snake oil quacks, because BIG PHARMA is just in it for the money, but the quacks they listen to in blogs and on rumble and the radio must be saints of charity.

I always love when they cite their cult worship for Donnie is due to him not being a politician and then when you point out he lies ever single time his butthole lipped mouth is moving they say it's because all politicians lie.

Businessman = good, even though they are the ones who find ways to siphon profit from people
Politician = bad, even though they are likely motivated by criminal justice or have a much more extensive background in law and policy.

The issue is people getting bought out no matter their original ideology. I think being a business person makes you even more predisposed to getting bought out.

I think you are absolutely correct. Being a businessman doesn't make you honorable. Lol

It means you will sell out yourself and sell out others for an extra buck.
