Cait Sith is Reeve. How Reeve is able to control Cait Sith is still a little out there. Some say Cait is just a robot and Reeve controls them completely, some say the cat is sentient that has his own mind even though it's a robot just taking orders from Reeve. Some say Reeve has magic powers to control them. We'll see how they flesh them out in Rebirth.

...I don't even understand this question. Why wouldn't it be a spoiler? It's a spoiler in the original game as well as Rebirth. Not everybody played the original game. When I did finally play the original game last year, I found out Cait Sith being Reeve right after he joined my party because someone spoiled it on GameFAQs. I wasn't too bothered since spoilers don't bother me too much, but it's still a spoiler.

People playing ff7r with no knowledge of the og were probably so confused when cait comes out and slams his fist on the ground when the plate drops

That was me since I played Remake first although I wouldn't say confused. Just thought it was a random NPC that you might meet later since he looked so unique. Right after I saw that scene, I saw someone mention the Cait cameo. So I thought he was a character everyone loved.

Tbh it's not that big a deal. I would actually like to see someone's reaction to it that never played the og and their look of "wtf did I just see"

Doesn't it come equipped with the Manipulate Materia? I just figured Reeve was exceptionally good at using Manipulate on it, or that it's a case of the spell operating differently in the plot than it does gameplay.

He does yeah. That's how I thought of it too

Though I don't think they explained HOW he controlled it... Or why he acted like a big goofball as it, and depressed in person. I guess cait was who he WANTED to be

Don't agree. It puts a question in the audience's head and also foreshadows that Cait Sith is from Midgar. They dropped a lot of really well done hints about Reeve in Remake.

Cait Sith and the fat mog it rides are robots designed like a stuffed animals. It even has a giant zipper on the back

It was supposed to be a bigger deal, but it was one of the things that got cut during development.

First time I've heard of it and I've played the game since its release in 97.

Does he control the moogle too, or does he control the cat, which controls the moogle?

He controls the cat, the cat controls the moogle.

It was in Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega.

Im of the opinion that Reeve made and programmed him and can take control if need be, but Cait Sith has its own personality and is generally controlling himself throughout the game while Reeve plays video games where he doesnt have to control a big dumb cat thing.
