Just got ff 7 on ps4. Was about to get ff 10 but was warned it didn't have triple speed or endless limit breaks like ff 7?

That's interesting you bring up pc, I just learned that the ps4 ff 7 was pc, and they simply ported it over to ps4.

Why didn't they do the same with ff 10 I'll never know. Don't want to replay the game without modern quality of life upgrades.

Tbh the FF7 triple speed got me to play the game longer than I would have because I could grind faster.

I wouldn't have made it to level 99 or bothered with the Weapons if I had to play it in normal speed lol

Is there a 10x speed option by any chance? Because even at triple speed I'm like "... battles could be faster"

How we sat through those long ass random battles and transition shots and load screens I'll never know. Definitely don't blame the haters back in the day like miyamoto or whomever

Maybe on PC.

On console, you're getting 3x. Which is fast enough to not trivialize the fighting part (so you're not sitting there just straight up spamming A/X)

Yeah plus you can straight up turn off random battles so it's a pretty good solve overall. But it really just made me realize I could never go back to playing any ps1 rpg, at this point in my life if no QoL additions then no play, I have a finite amount of time in front of a TV anyway.

The Zodiac Age of FF12, which i highly recommend, has 2x and 4x speed. I was used to the OG so i never used them. Then eventually when it got to more fetchquesting, i used 2x. Now in the endgame for grinding or whatnot, i was on 4x.

Fuck 10x. Just have a button that auto wins based on your party rotation and move setup.

There is a battle speed meter in the Config. I changed it to the fastest setting and that seems perfect to me.

Wrong.
That cheats autoheals you and automatically fills up your Limit Breaker, you will still die if the attack is higher than your HP.

You grind faster, your ATB and limit break autofills extremely fast so you attack much faster and more often, no need for healing...
Grind 3 HP+ materia so you get max HP and have fun.

I been looking in the configuration menu for this but I still couldn't find it, any help? In the ps4 version you click on the L3/R3 button for triple speed and both at the same time for no random encounters

I dunno if it's version specific but I'm playing on Switch and in the Config menu there's three meters you can set that determine battle speed, field text speed, and battle text speed. I just put battle speed all the way to max and the ATB charges up in like a second or two.

Dang this reminds me of when the switch version of ff 12 zodiac age had the option to switch jobs any time you want so you weren't permanently stuck with a job for the rest of the game.

But then after a couple months to a year they patched it into the ps4 version, making it the definitive version overall.

Damn, it might've been something they added in later ports then.

That depends on what youre asking.

If youre asking if it has fast forward and similar stuff built into the game, yes, but fast forward is the only one I can remember (I think there are 4 or 5 in the F1 menu if memory serves)l

If youre asking if the game has mods, there are 9 pages of mods on Nexus, but from a quick glance a lot of the popular ones look like graphics mods and retextures. I didnt feel like looking through them all, but there are definitely some gameplay altering mods.

How is an extremely linear on-rails game that's basically pretty hallway simulator (before that concept got ruined) can be "held together by gum and shoelaces" though? Wouldn't its very design lead to it being a highly refined product?
