Sure, Trump will have the incumbent advantage as well as a former POTUS, I give you that. As for name recognition, plenty of Dems also have that. I guess it would depend on how soon it is until the election, however if it's too close they'll likely put Harris as the candidate. A black woman will have a harder time than a white man, to be sure, however once again what people are actually voting for this election is democracy vs fascism, the Dem candidate is just the stand-in for "democracy", whoever that may be. We've seen these results in many races since 2018 where even no-name Dem candidates are winning surprising upsets becuase of issues such as abortion. A lot of people are really underselling how much the countyr hates having that right taken away from them, however it's been reflected electorally and from the mouth of candidates knocking doors, talking to people, who have talked about the main issue people care about. The economy is doing good, so providing it doesn't tank before the election Trump can't even harp on that.

You're banking on him winning because of name recognition, however name recognition has actually great hurt Trump, as we saw all the secretaries of state he wanted to plant to overturn 2024 were rejected at the ballot. The dude is toxic and even the greatly misinformed general electorate at least understands that much. A lot of people didn't even think Trump would actually be the Republican candidate until he won Iowa because they're not as tuned into politics as we are.

A landslide would necessitate that people either run to Trump or overwhelmingly reject whoever replaces Biden. Unless you're using "landslide" as Trump does to describe 2016, I guess.

Republican voters don't care.

No one actually is voting based on the "too old" thing. It's just an easy fallback reason for general voter apathy, partially caused by the Biden administration not doing enough to advertise their accomplishments and partially because people feel as though things are bad/getting worse and you can show them statistics but it doesn't change their perceptions (i.e. people's votes regarding the economy are more based on how they think the economy is going rather than how it's actually going).

True, however counter to that, the highest Dem voter turnout in history has been to vote against Trump. It's not just Dems, what reason would the average general electorate person have to vote for him after a campaign season of Dem ads outlining the aberration that is Donald Trump? They're the actual election deciders, the ones willing to sway.

That's fair, which is why I said they would likely put Harris as the candidate if it's too close to have any semblance of a primary. She's the current vice-president and will be running with Biden again, so she has name recognition and she will have already been campaigning with him.

As I said in the previous post, the biggest challenge is her being a black woman trying to be POTUS in America.
