Fried over medium for me. I used to think runny yolks were gross. I like them in certain contexts now, but only if there's bread or potatoes to soak it up. For plain eggs, which I have often, I don't want excessive yolk since how do I even eat it?

I saw a video of a guy deep frying some fried eggs, and while my initial reaction was revulsion it quickly changed to mild fascination when I saw the end result.

Basically he cooked an egg sunny side up, took it out of the pan before it was fully done and plopped it into a flour mixture. Coated the outside completely, threw it in boiling oil, and voila deep-fried fried egg.

I usually cook them as though I were cooking sunny side up (no flip), but put a lid on top so it kind of steams the top of the egg. I like to get it so the yolk just starts to solidify but still has some runniness to it

Depends for what I'm doing. It's good for a breakfast sandwich with large types or pieces of bread, so that you don't end up with a runny inedible mess

They are literally cooked.
You splash some grease over the yolk to "seal" it in as well. It makes it safer to flip them without busting open.

That's why you flip them over and let them fry a bit upside down. Not too long though or you'll ruin the yolk.

That turns it into over easy though. Sunny side up only cooks on one side.

Eh it's whatever to me. I just use sunny side up to refer to keeping the yolk intact.

Use a lid and you don't even have to flip them. Super easy

Thats the membrane that surrounds the yolk. You can break that with a spoon or knife and it will run out on to the rest of the whites and cook through.
